rearing-horse-statue-12-inch-resin-sculpture-in-gold-black-or-white
Rearing Horse Statue, 12 Inch Resin Sculpture in Gold, Black or White

A horse caught at the top of a rear, both front legs lifted and folded, neck arched and mane thrown back, standing on a low rock-textured base. This resin statue stands 12 inches tall, so it gives a bookshelf, a cabinet or a hall console some height instead of one more flat object, and it comes in gold, black or white.

The mane, the tail and the muscle lines are modeled all the way around, so there is no bad side to turn to the wall. The finish is matte rather than glazed, which keeps every groove easy to read under a lamp or a downlight.

Movement for a shelf that has gone flat

Most of what ends up on a shelf is low: a bowl, a stack of books, a candle, a small frame. A rearing horse does the opposite and draws the eye upward. It stands 12 inches tall and only 6.7 inches long, and its rock base takes up less room than a paperback laid flat.

The pose does the work. The front legs hang in the air out past the front of the base, the hind legs take the weight, and the long tail sweeps down to meet the rock behind them. From across the room the outline reads at once, even at the end of a crowded shelf.

Gold, black or white, and the room each one suits

Gold has a metallic tone with darker shading worked into the mane, the muscle lines and the rocks, which brings the detail forward and gives it an antique look. It sits well beside walnut, brass and warm lamplight.

Black is a flat matte black, the quietest of the three, and it holds its outline best against a pale wall or light oak shelves. White is a soft matte white that works the other way round, standing out on dark wood, a deep painted wall or a row of dark book spines.

Where it looks right

On a bookshelf it breaks up a long row of spines, and on a hall console it is the first thing you see as you come in. On a desk or a credenza it stands at one end, clear of the work, and the broad rock base keeps it steady.

It suits a study, a home office, a living room cabinet or a mantel. For someone who rides, or who has simply always liked horses, it makes an easy present that ends up on display rather than in a drawer. Put it where daylight falls across the mane, and the pose does the rest.

Specifications

Type: Decorative statue

Material: Resin

Colors: Gold, Black, White

Finish: Matte, not glazed; the Gold has a metallic gold tone with darker shading in the recesses

Design: Rearing horse with both front legs raised, on a rock-textured base

Dimensions: 6.7 in long x 3.1 in wide x 12 in tall (17 x 8 x 30.5 cm)

Weight: 1.2 lb (550 g)

Use: Indoor decoration

Places: Bookshelves, cabinets, hall consoles, sideboards, mantels and desks

Package Includes

1x Rearing Horse Statue in the color you choose

https://ridgewellliving.com/en-au/products/rearing-horse-statue-12-inch-resin-sculpture-in-gold-black-or-white
