The printed grain repeats. The molding lifts at one corner. The whole thing is finished in a hard, glassy coat that looks like plastic in daylight and chips like it too.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis one is solid wood. The grain runs the length of the tray and carries straight on across the rim, with knots and darker streaks left in it. The surface is satin rather than lacquered, so you can still see the pores. It also means no two are alike.
