chunky-knit-merino-blend-blanket-decorative-sofa-throw-in-7-colors
Chunky Knit Merino Blend Blanket, Decorative Sofa Throw in 7 Colors

Big, soft loops of merino wool blend yarn make this throw the most textured thing in the room. Drape it over the arm of a sofa or across the back of a reading chair, and the chunky knit does the styling for you in white, charcoal, gray, burgundy, beige, black or navy.

Think of it as a decorative throw first. Pull it over your knees for an hour with a book, then lay it back where it finishes the room.

A knit you can see from the doorway

Most throws are knit from fine yarn, so the pattern only shows when you are standing over it. Here every stitch is one big rounded loop of soft, chunky yarn, and the loops lock together in bold chains that run the full length of the throw.

The knit is open, so small gaps sit between the loops and the whole piece falls into deep, rounded folds wherever you put it. Along the edge the same loops turn sideways into a chunky braided border. There is no hem, no binding and no fringe to fray.

Merino wool blend, soft against bare arms

The yarn is a merino wool blend, which is why it feels soft rather than scratchy when you wrap it around your shoulders on a cool evening. It adds warmth as well as texture, so the throw that dresses the sofa is also the one you reach for when the room cools down.

Each loop has a matte, slightly fuzzy surface with no shine, and on the charcoal and gray the yarn carries a faint heathered tone that makes the color look deeper up close.

Made for styling, and easy to keep that way

Chunky merino knit is a delicate thing, and it looks its best on the end of a bed, the back of a sofa or a chair in the corner, used now and then rather than pulled about every night. Hard daily use or the wrong wash can loosen the loops or make the yarn shed.

Care comes down to three habits. Wash it by hand in cold water, store it flat, and keep it where a cat or dog cannot get its claws into the loops.

Seven colors, two lengths

White is a soft warm white, charcoal a deep heathered gray, and gray a warm mid tone. Burgundy is a deep wine red, beige a light oatmeal, black a true black and navy a dark midnight blue.

Both sizes share the same width and differ only in length. Small suits an armchair or a lap, while Large gives you more to drape over a sofa or across the foot of a bed. Exact measurements are in the specifications below, and whichever you choose, it turns a plain sofa into the coziest seat in the house.

Specifications

Material: Merino wool blend

Construction: Chunky knit with large open loops and a braided edge

Colors: White, Charcoal, Gray, Burgundy, Beige, Black, Navy

Small dimensions: 39 x 47 in (100 x 120 cm)

Large dimensions: 39 x 59 in (100 x 150 cm)

Color fastness: Grade 4

Use: Decorative throw for a sofa, bed or chair, best suited to occasional use

Care

Hand wash it on its own in cold water with a mild detergent, and never wring or twist it.
