A small white adhesive pad goes up on the ceiling, the beam, the branch or the arm of a chandelier, the line goes on the pad, and the candle hangs tip-up beneath it. From directly below, which is where everyone in the room is standing, the line vanishes into the ceiling and the candle just sits there in the air.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eEach one is about six and a half inches long and a little over half an inch across, so a dozen of them read as real dinner candles from anywhere in the room. Hang them at different lengths. These are molded plastic with an LED in the tip, so nothing above anybody's head is alight. There is no smoke, no wax landing on a plate and no scorch mark on the beam it hangs from. They stay cool. Switching forty of them on by hand means a ladder and twenty minutes, and doing it from where you are already standing takes about a second. Each candle also has its own switch at the base, tightened by hand, if you would rather set them once and put the wand away.
