Each coaster is woven outward from a single point in the middle, and the stitches fan out like a sunburst to a firm border at the edge.

No drawer to dig through. No stray coaster under the sofa. Lift one off the top, and put it back in the holder when the cup is empty.

Most coasters live in a drawer, which is why the table has rings on it

Almost every house owns a set of coasters, and almost every coffee table still carries a pale ring from a hot mug. The trouble is rarely the coaster itself. A flat square of cork or printed board looks like something to tidy away, so it goes in a drawer, and the mug goes straight down on the wood because the drawer is on the other side of the room.

These are made to stay out. The holder is a low round cup of woven rattan with all six coasters stacked inside, and it sits happily beside a lamp or a pile of books where a stack of cork squares would look like clutter. When the set is within reach, it gets used.

The weave is the reason to leave them on the table

Look closely at one coaster and the pattern starts at a small, tight knot in the center. From there the rattan runs outward in ring after ring of short slanted stitches, so the whole face reads as a sunburst with a gentle twist to it. A close-wrapped border runs around the outside and finishes the disc.

The color is a warm honey brown, and it is not perfectly even. Some strands are a shade lighter than their neighbors, some a shade darker, and the gaps between the stitches settle into a deeper brown. That variation is what natural rattan looks like, and it is the thing a printed pattern never quite manages.

The holder is woven to match, with rows of slanted stitches around its wall and the same sunburst across its floor. A narrow slot runs down one side, bound on each edge with wrapped rattan. The edges of the stacked coasters show through it, so you can tell at a glance how many are still inside.

Made for the cup you actually put down

The coffee table is the obvious home, since that is where the morning mug and the evening tea both land. They suit a tea tray just as well, and a desk where a cup sits beside the keyboard for most of the day.

They take hot drinks and cold ones alike, whether that is a mug of coffee, a small tea cup or a short glass. Six is enough for the family at the table or a few friends over for coffee. When everyone has gone, the coasters stack back into the holder and the table is clear again.

Specifications

Material: Rattan and bamboo

Construction: Woven, with the stitches radiating from the center of each coaster

Shape: Round

Color: Natural honey brown, with natural variation from strand to strand

Holder: Round and open at the top, with a slot down one side

Use: Hot and cold drinks, under mugs, tea cups and small glasses

Package Includes

6x Woven Rattan Coasters

1x Woven Rattan Coaster Holder

https://ridgewellliving.com/products/woven-rattan-coasters-set-of-6-with-round-holder-for-coffee-and-tea-cups
