Two champagne-gold branch picks, each 12 inches long, with about thirty clear crystal-look beads strung along fine gold sprigs. Push them into a vase, a wreath or the branches of the tree, and they pick up the light from every candle and string of fairy lights in the room.
No water to change. Nothing dropping on the floor. They come out of the box looking the same every Christmas.
A little sparkle that goes wherever the decorating needs it
Most of what goes up at Christmas is big: the tree, the garland, the wreath on the door. What is usually missing is something small and bright that can sit between those things, and that is the job these stems do. A pair of them in a slim vase turns an empty end of the mantel into a finished corner, and two tucked into a wreath or a fir arrangement add sparkle without adding another ornament to hang.
The beads are clear acrylic with a faint champagne tint, cut with small facets and flecked inside with gold and silver glitter. From across the room they read as cut crystal catching the light. Up close you see the flecks and facets, because they are made to look like crystal rather than to pretend to be glass.
Built like a real sprig, not a stick with beads glued on
The lower half of each stem is plain and smooth, wrapped in pale gold, which is the part that slides into a vase neck or between the branches of a wreath. Above it the stem opens out the way a winter twig does. One tall sprig carries on straight up with a little cluster of beads at its tip, a shorter one leans to the left, and a fan of fine twisted-wire sprigs spreads out to the right, each bead on its own short stalk.
Because the head leans to one side, two stems set back to back make a fuller shape than one alone, and two facing the same way make a loose sweep. Either way, the gold of the stems sits easily beside brass candlesticks, ivory baubles, natural pine cones and fresh greenery.
Where a pair of stems works best
Each order is two stems, and the vase is not included. A narrow bud vase or a small bottle is the simplest home for them, with nothing else needed. They also mix well into a jug of cut fir or eucalyptus, where a couple of bright sprigs keep a green arrangement from looking plain.
On the tree, tuck them in among the baubles near the lights, where the beads catch the glow. In a wreath or along a garland, push the plain lower stems in at an angle so the beaded heads sit on the surface. For a larger arrangement or a whole wreath, plan on more than one set, and at the end of the season they lie flat in a box until next year.
