A pendant light made from two simple shapes: a rounded metal body on top, and a thick ring of glass wrapped around the light beneath it. It is the clean geometry that Bauhaus-inspired design is known for, sized to hang over a dining table, a kitchen island or the chair where you read in the evening.

Switched on, the ring spreads the light into a soft, even glow instead of a hard spot on the table. Switched off, it still looks like a deliberate choice rather than a fitting that came with the house.

Four glass colors and six body colors, so the pairing is yours

Most pendants come in one finish, maybe two, and you take the room as it comes. Here the shade and the body are chosen separately, which gives you 24 pairings to set against your walls, your table and the wood already in the room.

The glass comes in White, a bright matte Green, a warm matte Amber and a deep Olive. The body comes in Black, Burgundy, Pink, Sage, Beige and Yellow. A white shade on a black body is the quietest of the set, while the colored rings bring the mid-century warmth that makes these lights a talking point. On the Beige body the cord is white; on the other five it is black.

Two sizes, and one or a pair

The Small is a neat accent for a bedside, a breakfast table or a corner beside the sofa, and it works well hung in pairs over a kitchen island. The Large has the presence to light a dining table on its own. Exact measurements for both are in the specifications below.

Several of the photographs show two lights side by side, often in two different colors, and that is an easy way to give a long table or an island some rhythm. Each order is one light, so you can match them or mix them.

Wired in like any ceiling light, hung at the height you want

The light connects to a ceiling junction box and runs from your wall switch, with no plug and no switch on the fitting. The cord adjusts up to 59 inches, so it can sit low over a table or higher in a hallway, and it lights an area of about 54 to 108 square feet.

The bulb is not included. It takes a G9 LED bulb, and a warm white one at 3000K gives the golden light you see in these photographs. Hang it once, and the room has its color every time you flick the switch.
