A mini stovetop moka pot with two spouts, made to brew straight into a pair of small espresso cups standing on its own tray. It makes 100 ml at a time, which is two short, strong coffees, and at 6.3 inches tall it sits on the counter without taking it over.
No jug to pour from. No second cup left waiting. Fill the base, set it on the heat, and both cups fill together.
Two cups fill at the same moment
An ordinary moka pot brews into a closed top chamber, and then you pour it out one cup at a time. Here the coffee rises up the black column in the middle and splits between two curved steel spouts, one over each cup, so both cups get the same brew and finish together.
The cups stand on a flat, mirror-polished tray that sits just above the water base, one on each side of the column, with a spout over the middle of each. Small, low espresso cups suit it best, and the cups themselves are not included.
Polished 304 stainless steel, in three parts
The water base, the filter basket and the cup tray with its spouts are all 304 stainless steel, polished to a mirror finish that picks up the light in your kitchen. The only dark part is the slim black column the spouts rise from, which gives the whole thing its shape: a small steel bell at the bottom, a tray across the middle and two arches on top.
A small valve on the side of the base shows you how far to fill it. Everything unscrews and lifts apart, so after the last sip each piece gets a quick rinse under the tap and goes back together for the next pot.
How to brew a good pair of cups
Fill the base with water up to the valve on its side, and no higher. Drop in the filter basket, fill it with ground coffee and level it flat without pressing it down. Screw the top on, stand your two cups on the tray and set the pot over a low to medium heat.
When the coffee has run through both spouts into the cups, the brew is done, so take the pot off the heat straight away. On gas, use the smallest burner and keep the flame under the base, because the base is only 3.4 inches across.
Small enough to keep in the office kitchen, pack for a camping trip or take on a weekend away, it makes two proper cups of coffee wherever there is a stove.
