Sunburst Cotton Blanket, Reversible Boho Gauze Throw with Orange Border

Big orange suns ring this cotton blanket, each one wrapped in long rays of pink, burgundy and deep blue, with curling burgundy shells and blue-and-white spirals filling the space between them. A wide orange border runs all the way around, and the other side carries a darker version of the design, so the same blanket gives a bed or a couch two quite different looks.

Spread it over the bed and the pattern runs right across it, corner to corner. Drop it across the couch and the orange band lands along the front edge, framing the whole thing.

Suns big enough to read from the doorway

The suns are the largest shapes on it, solid orange discs with a fine spiral running through each one, and they are drawn big enough to pick out clearly from across the room. Around them sit starbursts of white and blue points, zigzag bands in mustard and orange, and burgundy shells traced with rows of short white dashes.

All of it sits on a cream ground, which keeps the bright colors from running into each other. Up close there is plenty to look at. From the far side of the room, the whole thing settles into one warm, bold spread of color.

Turn it over for the darker side

The reverse is patterned too. It sets slate gray, orange and mustard shapes on a navy ground, so it reads deeper and quieter than the front. Fold the top edge back on a made bed and you get a strip of both faces at once.

The orange border edges both sides, so the blanket looks finished whichever way up it lands.

Five layers of cotton gauze, with the pattern woven in

The cloth is 100% cotton gauze built up in five layers, which gives it a soft surface while it stays light enough to fold over one arm. Nothing is printed on top. The suns, rays and spirals are woven from colored yarns, and where the cloth folds you can pick out the separate threads that make each shape.

It falls into loose, easy folds over the side of a bed or the front of a couch. You won't find a fringe to tangle, only the plain orange band finishing every edge.

The Small suits the couch or the foot of the bed, while the Medium and the Large are the ones to spread across a whole bed, the Large hanging lowest over the sides. Whichever you pick, the darker side is underneath whenever you want a change.

We recommend washing it by hand to keep it at its best. It is machine washable as well.
