Pineapple Sculpture in Resin with Gold Crown, White, Gold or Black

A pineapple in resin, standing upright on a shelf with a tall gold crown of pointed leaves rising out of the top. The whole body is cut into rows of small pyramid facets with a glossy finish, so it reads as a pineapple from across the room and as something sharper and more modern up close.

Choose white, gold or black, in three heights. The crown is gold on all of them.

The facets are what catch the light

Instead of copying the rough skin of the fruit, the body is made of crisp four-sided pyramids laid out in a diamond grid, each one rising to a small point. Every facet sits at its own angle, so each one takes the light a little differently from the one beside it.

The glossy finish is what makes the pattern work. Light from a window or a lamp picks out the points and the edges, and the pattern shifts as you walk past or as the light moves across the room.

The crown is smooth by contrast. A short collar of leaves sits on top of the body, three tiers of curved blades spread out above it, and two tall leaves stand straight up at the very top.

White, gold or black

White is the quietest of the three, a glossy white with the gold crown as its one bright accent. It sits easily on pale oak, linen and stone, and it looks crisp against a dark bookshelf.

Gold is one color from base to crown, a mirror finish in which every facet reflects a little of the room, and it suits warm wood, brass and a kitchen with open shelves. Black is glossy and graphic, with fine bright highlights along the edges of the facets, and the gold crown stands out sharply on top of it against a light wall.

Put two or three together and they read as a set rather than separate pieces.

Three heights, and where each one fits

The small one stands about two inches taller than a coffee mug, which makes it right for a desk, a windowsill or a gap between books. The medium one is close to the height of a paperback and fits a bedside table or a kitchen shelf.

The large one is a little taller than a hardback, enough to hold its own on a sideboard, a console in the hall or the end of a mantel. Exact sizes are in the specifications below. Set a medium beside a large and the two make an easy pairing on a wide surface.
