An open frame wall clock made of two slim metal rings, one hung just behind the other, with a thin cross of rods, a round hub and two leaf-tipped hands, so the clock reads as a bold outline and your wall shows straight through it. At 21.6 or 23.6 inches across it fills the blank space above a sofa, a sideboard or a bed, and the silent quartz movement keeps the room quiet.
No numbers. No glass. No ticking.
Two rings, and nothing in the middle but the wall
Most big wall clocks are a solid disc, and at this size a solid disc starts to feel like a dinner plate hung on the wall. This one keeps only the outline: two rings of slim square metal tube, set about two and a half inches apart, so from any angle off straight-on you see a second thin ring sitting just behind the first. That small offset is what gives it depth, and it is why the clock looks like a piece of metalwork rather than a printed face.
A straight rod crosses the middle at 3 and 9, and two slim upright rods run from top to bottom through a flat round hub. The hands are cut from metal with a leaf-shaped tip, and there is no second hand at all. Because there is no dial behind them, the paint color, the wallpaper or the wood paneling on your wall becomes the face.
Big enough to anchor a whole wall
A small clock on a large empty wall tends to look lost, and a gallery of frames takes an afternoon of measuring. A single 22 or 24 inch ring does the job on its own, and it suits a living room above the sofa, a dining room over a sideboard, a bedroom above the headboard or a home office behind the desk. Exact sizes are in the specifications.
It hangs from one hanging hook, which is included, and the front upright rod rises above the rings to hang from it. One AA battery runs the movement, and it is sold separately.
Which of the four to pick
Black with Gold Hands pairs a crisp black outline with two warm gold hands that catch the light. All Black is the quietest of the four and works nicely against white, gray or concrete. All Gold suits warmer rooms with brass lamps, wood and cream walls, while Gold with Black Hands keeps the gold outline and makes the time easier to read at a glance from across the room. Each one comes in both sizes, so you choose the finish first and the size second, and the room gets a clock that looks deliberate rather than an afterthought.
