Pumpkin Head Skeleton Figurines, See, Hear and Speak No Evil, Set of 3

Three little skeletons sit cross-legged with jack-o'-lanterns for heads, and each one holds its bony hands over a different part of its face. Line them up on a shelf and they act out see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil without a word of explanation.

Each figure is about three and a half inches tall. They fit the edge of a bookshelf, a mantel or the corner of a desk, and nothing needs plugging in.

Three poses, one old joke, read from across the room

The first skeleton has both hands spread over the top of its pumpkin, covering its eyes, with a wide black grin still showing underneath. The second presses its palms flat against the sides of its head, so you see the whole angry face, slanted eyes and a jagged open mouth, while it refuses to listen. The third clasps both hands over its mouth and scowls over its fingers. Not a word.

Because everyone already knows the saying, nobody has to work out what they are looking at. The bright orange heads catch the eye first. The hands tell the story a second later, and that small moment of recognition is the whole point of having them out.

Small enough to go wherever there is a gap

The rooms you actually sit in are full of narrow spaces that a larger decoration would swamp, like the end of a bookshelf, a windowsill behind the curtain or the space beside your keyboard. Each figure is about two inches wide, so even standing shoulder to shoulder the three of them run to roughly six inches. That is a gap you already have.

Keep them together as a set, or split them up around a room so each pose turns up somewhere new. They sit flat on their crossed leg bones and stand on their own on any level surface.

Bone and pumpkin, down to the knuckles

They are cast in resin, and the detail is in the small things. Every rib, vertebra and finger joint is picked out. The bones are finished in an aged off-white with darker brown worked into the crevices, and the ribbed pumpkin heads are bright orange with black painted faces. A wipe with a dry cloth keeps them clean, and with no bulbs, cables or batteries there is nothing to charge or replace from one year to the next.

Put them out with the rest of the Halloween decorations and they can stay right through Thanksgiving, three small faces on the shelf that make people look twice.
