A real flame on a black base just under 14 inches long, standing between two long panels of tempered glass. Fill the steel burner with bio-ethanol, 70% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol gel, light it, and the dining table, the coffee table or the patio has a fire on it for the next hour or so.
No cord to run. No gas bottle to hide. No logs to stack.
A real flame where a candle usually goes
Candles are lovely, but from across the room they are a few small points of light, and on a long table they barely register past the second place setting. This is a proper flame, tall and moving. It gives the whole table or the corner of the room something to look at once the lights go down.
The two glass panels run almost the full length of the base, one along each long side, and the flame rises in the clear channel between them. From the sofa, from either side of the table or from a chair on the patio, you look straight through the glass at the fire. Both short ends stay open. The black base and the brushed steel burner keep the whole thing plain enough to sit with any table, wood, stone or glass.
Three fuels, and any of them is easy to find
It runs on bio-ethanol, on isopropyl alcohol at 70% or stronger, or on ethanol gel, so the fuel is whatever you can pick up most easily. Pour it into the burner, light it, and a full fill gives you more than an hour of flame, a little more or less depending on the fuel and how much you use. Fuel is not included.
These fuels burn with very little smoke or smell, which is what makes a flame like this workable at a dinner table, though very little is not none. Use only those three. Gasoline and other flammable liquids never go in it.
Light enough to carry from the table to the patio
The whole thing weighs about 3.5 pounds, so it moves wherever the evening goes: the middle of the dining table for dinner, the coffee table afterwards, a balcony or an outdoor table when the weather allows. It works indoors and outdoors alike, as long as the space is well ventilated.
Treat it as you would any open flame. Keep it away from curtains, anything flammable and anything hanging low above it, keep pets well back, and never leave it burning with nobody in the room. Let it cool completely before you move it, refill it or put it away, and it is ready for the next evening you want a fire on the table.
