Ginkgo Jacquard Quilt, Reversible Cotton Blend Bedspread in Four Sizes

Ginkgo leaves climb this quilt on long, winding stems from the foot of the bed to the pillows, in orange, dusty pink and bright chartreuse on a deep sage-green ground. Turn it over and the same leaves sit on burnt orange, so one quilt gives the bedroom two completely different moods.

It comes in four sizes, Small to Extra Large. Lay it over the made bed as a bedspread, or let it be the only cover on a warm night.

Every leaf is built from thread

Look closely at any leaf and you can follow the colored threads that make it, fanning out from the stem the way the veins of a real ginkgo leaf do. That is jacquard weaving, which means the color is part of the cloth itself rather than a layer sitting on top of it.

Behind the leaves, the ground carries a fine woven zigzag that gives the surface a quiet texture and catches the light when you look at it from an angle. From the doorway, the pattern reads as tall branches against green. Up close, you notice the small yellow buds tucked in along each stem.

Green on top, or orange when the room wants warmth

The back is not a plain lining. Burnt orange carries the same ginkgo vines in teal green, mauve and chartreuse, so turning the quilt over changes the whole bed without touching anything else in the room. Fold the top edge back over the pillows and you get both at once, a band of orange above a field of green.

A smooth green border wraps every edge on both faces and ties the two colors together. There is no fringe, just a clean, bound finish that lies flat along the side of the mattress.

Four sizes

The quilt comes in Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and the exact figures for each one are in the specifications below. If you like the sides of the bed well covered, check the width against your mattress before you choose.

The ginkgo pillowcases are sold on their own, as a pair. The quilt is a blend of 70% cotton and 30% soy fiber, and it goes in a cold, gentle machine wash, so it can stay on the bed every day instead of waiting in a cupboard for guests. Whichever side faces up, the bed looks finished the moment it is made.
