Wooden pegs instead of bent wire

Cheap over-door hooks are usually a strip of chrome wire with pointed ends, and they leave a mark on the collar of every coat you hang on them. These pegs are natural wood, each with a short stem and a wide, rounded head about an inch and a quarter across. A coat collar or a bag strap rests on a smooth curve instead of a thin edge, and the wider head keeps it from sliding off the end.

The left strap is slightly longer than the right, which is what lets the bar step up, and each strap ends in a short hook that rests on the top of the door.
