Abstract Pattern Throw Blanket in Two Tone Knit, Rust, Green or Brown

A soft knitted throw carrying an abstract pattern of big, rounded shapes that grow off thin, forking stems, worked in one deep color against an off-white ground. Lay it along the sofa seat or drape it across a chair back. The design still reads clearly from the other side of the room.

This is the throw that ends up over your knees once the evening slows down, and it tends to stay out afterwards because it looks right just lying there. Fold it over a bench or toss it loosely on a seat and the shapes still come through.

Wide, rounded shapes on fine, forking stems

Nothing in the drawing is a literal picture, though it sits somewhere close to leaves along a branch. Broad, soft-edged shapes hang off slender stems that bend and split across the full width of the blanket, and the off-white ground winds between them in loose, irregular channels.

Two colors, nothing more. Because every shape is so large, the design holds together even when the blanket is folded double and hung across a chair.

The knit is fine and tight and feels soft in the hand, with the pattern knitted from yarns dyed in its two colors. Look closely and you can pick out the stitches.

Every edge is overcast with a row of looped stitching in the blanket's deep color, and it stands out most where it meets the off-white field near the border. At 51 x 71 inches it spreads comfortably across a sofa seat, and it hangs tidily from a chair or a bench.

Three colors, one abstract design

Rust is the lead color, a warm red-brown that sits well next to wood and tan leather. Green is deep and dark, and Brown runs close to chocolate, the most understated of the three.

All three set the deep color against an off-white ground, and the pattern does not change from one to the next.

Whichever one you choose, it is a throw you will be happy to leave out on show.

Care

We recommend washing it by hand to keep it at its best. It will also take a cold machine wash with mild detergent on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach.
