Halloween Coffee Station Sign, Vintage Metal Plaque 7.9 x 11.8 Inches

A cream metal plate, just under eight inches across and a shade under twelve tall, printed like the menu board of a coffee shop that only opens in October. Paper and card give you one October, and you watch it happen

Most seasonal signs this size are printed card with a loop of twine through a punched hole, and they behave the way printed card behaves. The first year is fine. Somewhere in the second the corners go soft, the twine tears a crescent out of the top edge, and the colors fade to the flat washed pink that cheap ink always ends up at.

This is iron. It stays flat, it does not go soft at the corners, and all four sides are folded back on themselves so the edge you handle is a hem rather than a cut sheet. Put it away on the first of November and it comes out the following year the same shape it went in.

Most Halloween decor is an object you find a shelf for. This one says something, and what it says is a coffee list, so the wall it belongs on chooses itself.

Coffee, cold brew, espresso and tea run in a line across the middle, between two thin rules with a small diamond set in them. Served with scream and sugar sits under that, in the heaviest lettering on the plate, and the small type beneath it runs through scared-tea, bone-chilling cold brew and a jack-o-lantern latte. One line closes it along the bottom edge, and that is the one people read out loud. Freshly spooked and eerie-sistible.

Hang it over the coffee machine, over the kettle, behind the mugs, or at the end of a run of cabinets. Funny at reading distance and legible from the other side of the room, which is the split most printed decor misses in one direction or the other.

Four corner holes, and four ways to put it up

There is a small pre-drilled hole in each corner, so nothing commits you to one method. Screws through all four is the permanent version. Twine or ribbon through the top two turns it into something you hang off a hook, a shelf bracket or a cabinet handle, and zip ties do the same job on a railing or a wire rack. Double-sided tape puts it up with nothing at all going into the wall, which is usually what people want on a rented kitchen.

Mounting hardware is not included, so settle on the method before it arrives. Keep it indoors and out of the weather, which is what keeps the colors true and the metal clean. The whole job is a minute in late September, and a minute again in November.
