A Bauhaus-inspired ceiling light built from stacked rings of tinted glass, each one a little narrower than the one above, mounted flush on a round black base. Switch it on and the single bulb lights every layer at once, so the glass glows green, gray or amber and the edge of each step catches a fine bright line.
It sits close to the ceiling with no cord or chain, so it works over a dining table, in a living room or in an entryway without anything hanging down into the room. Two layers keep it slim at 7.1 inches. Three give a deeper stack at 10.2 inches.
Colored glass, lit from the inside
Most flush lights are a frosted dome you stop noticing after a week. This one asks to be looked at. The top layer is a wide, shallow drum of tinted glass, 16.5 inches across, with a rounded shoulder where it meets the ceiling base, and one or two narrower glass rings step down beneath it toward the room.
The glass is clear enough to see through. Where the layers overlap, the color deepens, and where a single thickness hangs below the rest it turns pale and bright. The result is a light with real depth to it, more like a piece of colored glass on the ceiling than a shade over a bulb.
Close to the ceiling, with nothing hanging down
The black base sits right against the ceiling and the glass hangs directly below it, so the whole fitting stays within 7.1 inches of the ceiling on the 2 Layer and 10.2 inches on the 3 Layer. No cord to adjust. No chain to dust. That makes it easy to place over a dining table or a kitchen island, above a sofa, or in the middle of a bedroom ceiling.
It takes one standard E27 bulb, which is not included. A warm white LED bulb gives the soft, glowing color you see in the photos, and one light covers roughly 108 to 161 square feet.
Two layers or three, in green, gray or amber
Both styles share the same 16.5-inch top layer and the same black base. The 2 Layer adds one ring beneath it and keeps the profile slim, which suits a standard ceiling or a smaller room. The 3 Layer adds a second, smaller ring below that, so the light steps further down into the room and gives a taller ceiling more to look at.
Green is a deep olive glass that sits well beside wood, linen and plants. Gray is a smoky, neutral tint that stays quiet in a white, gray or black room. Amber runs from a warm rust at the top to a golden glow in the lower layers, and it brings the most warmth of the three. The exact figures for each style are in the specifications below.
Switch it on in the evening and the ceiling turns into a stack of colored light.
