A single large mandala fills the middle of this cotton quilt, with rings of zigzags, pointed petals, dots and small suns spreading out from one central bloom, sized so the whole medallion lands on the top of the bed. Turn it over and the same design comes back in reverse, cream on gray or cream on brown, so one quilt gives the room two different looks.

Lay it flat to show the full medallion. Fold the top edge back over the pillows and the darker side becomes a clean band at the head of the bed.

A pattern woven into the cotton, not printed on top

Look closely and the design is part of the cloth itself. Colored yarns form every zigzag and petal, which is why the back of the quilt carries the same mandala with the colors swapped, rather than a faint print showing through from the other side.

Around the medallion, a row of small triangles runs across each end and a quarter of the mandala sits in each corner. On a made bed the triangles at the foot fall just before the edge of the mattress, so the design looks framed without any extra effort from you.

Two finished sides, so the bed can change without new bedding

The Gray quilt has a cream face with the pattern in a soft charcoal, and its reverse is a warm dark gray with the pattern picked out in cream. The Brown quilt follows exactly the same layout in a dusty, rose-tinged brown that sits gently in a pale room.

Keep the cream side up when the room wants brightening. Flip it to the darker side for a deeper, calmer look. Either way the medallion stays centered.

One cover that works on the bed and over the couch

On a warm night it can be the only cover on the bed, and when the house cools down it goes over the duvet as a top layer you can fold back without getting out from under it. Over the back of a sofa it drapes in loose folds, with the corner motifs and the darker reverse both on show.

It comes in Small and Large, and the exact measurements are in the specifications below. Washing is simple. It goes in the machine on a cold wash, on its own, and tumble dries on low.

Whichever side you choose, the mandala gives the bed a centerpiece before anything else in the room has changed.
