A double-wall glass tea bottle with its own leaf chamber on top, so loose tea steeps only while you want it to. Tip the bottle upside down and the hot water floods the chamber; stand it back up and the tea drains into the bottle while the leaves stay behind, held above a stainless steel strainer.
No soggy leaves floating in your drink. No mesh basket sitting in the tea all morning. No cup that turns bitter by the time you reach the office. Steep it for as long as you like it, then stand it up.
Most infuser bottles never stop steeping
You already know how an infuser works, and you know the catch. In the usual bottle a mesh basket hangs inside the water, so the leaves keep going for as long as there is tea left to drink, and the last third of the bottle is always stronger and harsher than the first.
Here the leaves live in a separate glass chamber that screws onto the top of the bottle, with a metal band and a fine stainless strainer between the two. Upside down, the water runs through the strainer and the leaves swirl in it. Upright, the tea runs back down, the leaves sit dry above the strainer, and the steep is over. You can watch the color change through the glass and turn it over when it looks right.
Three pieces that unscrew for filling and cleaning
The bottle comes apart into the glass body, the metal band with the strainer inside it, and the small glass chamber. Spoon the leaves into the chamber, fill the body from the kettle, and screw it all back together, with a silicone ring sealing the joint so it stays leak-resistant when you turn it over to steep or drop it into a bag.
To drink, lift off the chamber and band together and drink straight from the glass mouth of the body. The strainer lifts out when you would rather carry plain water. Every part rinses clean under the tap, and the clear glass shows you when it has.
Double glass walls you can hold with hot tea inside
The body is borosilicate glass made with two walls and a gap between them, so the tea sits inside an inner glass with a clear layer all around it and a thick clear base underneath. Freshly brewed hot tea still feels comfortable in your hand, and the glass handles hot and cold drinks alike.
It fits a car cup holder and the side pocket of a work bag, and it looks just as at home on a desk next to the keyboard. Green tea, black tea, oolong, jasmine, mint or loose flowers all work in the chamber.
The band comes in silver, black, gold or pink, and the bottle in two sizes: the Small holds 9.5 ounces and the Large 14.2 ounces, with the same chamber and band on both and a taller body on the Large. Loose leaves, a kettle and a few minutes, and you have tea that tastes the same at the bottom of the bottle as it did at the top.
