A table lamp with a witch's hat for a shade, made from streaky stained-glass-style panels in cream, amber, rose and deep red that glow warm when it is lit. A dark band runs around the hat with an amber buckle at the front, and the whole thing stands on a turned pedestal in a dark bronze tone.

A light you leave on all evening, not a prop

It does the everyday job of a bedside or desk light. Set it on the nightstand, the end of a bookshelf or the corner of a desk and it lights that spot every evening, through the season and well after it.

The light is warm white and soft. It shows up brightest through the pale panels of the crown, glows a deeper plum through the wide brim, and leaves a small warm pool on the table around the foot. Look closely and no two panels match

The crown is built up from small, slightly uneven panels, each outlined in a thin dark line the way leading runs through an old church window. They shade from cream and honey at the bottom to rose and deep red toward the tip, which bends over to one side like a hat that has been worn for years.

Below the crown, a ribbon of near-black panels with a pebbled texture stays dark when everything else is lit, so the amber buckle stands out against it. The brim spreads wide and slopes down in dusky plum and smoky rose. The shade is resin made to look like stained glass, and the colors vary a little from lamp to lamp.

The base is a turned pedestal. Raised ribs curve down its body and fan out across a wide, scalloped foot, in a near-black finish that catches the light in bronze along every ridge.
