Aluminum Corner Shower Rack, No Drill Deep Basket and Optional Towel Bar

An aluminum corner basket for the shower, with walls 2.6 inches tall all the way round so shampoo bottles stand inside it instead of balancing on a ledge. It goes up on two adhesive wall plates with no drill, and it comes with or without a towel bar and four sliding hooks underneath.

No holes in the tile. No rust streaks down the grout. No bottles lined up along the edge of the tub.

Deep enough that a bottle stays where you put it

Most corner shelves are a flat tray with a thin rail around it, so a tall bottle knocked by an elbow goes straight over the top and onto the shower floor. This one is a proper basket. The solid front and sides run the whole way round at the same height, deep enough to hold full-size bottles upright while you reach past them.

The front is cut with three rows of long slots and the floor with curved drain slots, so the water from the shower runs out instead of standing under everything. Nothing sits in a puddle.

Up on the tile without a drill, and off again to clean it

Each wall gets one adhesive plate with two bolts on it. You wipe the tile clean and dry, press the plates on hard, and leave them for 72 hours before anything goes on. Then the basket hangs on the bolts and two nuts on each side hold it in place. To clean it, loosen the nuts and lift the basket off. The plates stay on the wall.

The plates need a smooth surface: glazed tile, glass, smooth stone, metal, lacquered board or a sealed acrylic surround. They will not hold on textured or split-face stone, rough plaster, wallpaper, flaking paint or across a grout line, and the corner should be close to a right angle.

Aluminum, so there is nothing in it to rust

The usual corner caddy is chrome-plated steel wire, and it fails the same way every time: the plating chips at a weld, water reaches the steel, and an orange streak starts down the grout. This basket is aluminum with an anodized finish, so there is no steel underneath to bleed through, however long it sits in steam. Solid panels also leave no wire gaps for hair and soap to gather in.

The Gray is a soft gunmetal satin that sits quietly beside chrome or brushed fixtures and does not show every water spot. The Black is a flat, even matte black that gives a white tiled corner one strong dark line.

With the towel bar, or the basket on its own

The towel bar version adds a round bar that runs underneath the basket, about 1.8 inches below it, with four hooks that slide along it. A washcloth, a loofah and a back brush finally get their own place. Both versions have a hook at each end of the basket.

Without the bar, the basket keeps a low profile, which suits a tight shower stall where anything hanging below it would catch your elbow. Where the corner has room, the bar is worth having.

Care

Wipe it with a damp cloth. For hard-water film, use white vinegar on a cloth, then rinse. Avoid abrasive pads and bleach scrubs, which dull both finishes.
