It still looks good with the candle out

Most candle holders are only worth looking at when they are lit, and for the rest of the day they sit on the sideboard as a glass tube or a plain metal cup. This one is drawn in lines. The rods are round, about the thickness of a coat hanger wire, and they rise from the base side by side, touching in places and parting again so that narrow eye-shaped gaps open between them. At the top they stop at slightly different heights, which leaves a loose, uneven fringe instead of a rim.

The finish is a matte black powder coat with a low sheen, so in daylight the holder reads as a dark sketch against a pale wall or a wooden table. It suits a modern room, a farmhouse kitchen or a shelf of books equally well. The coating is anti-rust, which is why it can go out to a covered patio for the evening as easily as it sits on a mantel.

Made for pillar candles, real or flameless

The candle stands on a flat round base with a low rim, inside the rods, with nothing between the flame and the room. Standard pillar candles are what it is made for, and flameless LED pillars work just as well if you would rather not leave a real flame burning. Taper candles are too narrow to stand securely, and candles that come in a glass jar will not fit, so keep those for somewhere else. Candles are not included.

One on its own, or all three together

Each order is one holder, in the height you choose: Small, Medium or Large. All three share the same diameter and the same wavy rods, so they look like a family when they stand together. A single Small works well on a bedside table, a bathroom shelf or the corner of a desk. A Small and a Large make a good pair on a mantel or a console, because the step in height keeps them from looking like bookends. All three, clustered slightly off center rather than set out in a line, make a centerpiece for the dining table or the sideboard. The exact heights are in the specifications.
