A shoe box with a see-through door on the front, made to stack. Put a pair inside, close the magnetic door and set the next one on top. When you want those shoes again, you open the front of that one box and the rest of the stack stays exactly where it is.

No lifting three boxes down to reach the bottom one. No guessing which lid hides which pair. Every pair sits heel-out behind its own window, in black or translucent. Start with a single box or a set of three, and the stack grows at the same pace as the collection.

Open the front and leave the stack standing

A lid on top works well until there is another box sitting on it. From then on, getting to anything below the top row means taking the pile apart and building it again. This one opens at the front instead. A small notch at the top of the door gives your finger something to hook, the front drops open, and the pair slides out at whatever height it was stored, top of the column or floor level.

Close it again and a magnet holds the door shut. Dust stays outside, the shoes stay in, and nothing else in the stack has moved.

Every pair on show, none of them on the floor

Because the door is see-through, you can read the whole collection from across the room and pick a pair before you have touched anything. Each one sits squarely on the one below, so a column holds its shape whether it is two high on a closet shelf or five high beside the front door.

Each box is 13.4 inches deep, which leaves room for a pair of men's basketball shoes with the heels facing the door. Four of them stacked stand about as tall as a dining table, and two side by side take up roughly twenty inches of wall.

Black for a display wall, translucent for a quick look

Translucent is see-through on every side, so a column tucked into the corner of a closet still shows you what is inside from the end. Black shows only the front, which frames each pair behind its door and turns a wall of sneakers into something closer to a display than a storage shelf.

Both are the same size and stack the same way. Take a set of three to start a column for the pairs you wear most, or a single box, and add another when the next pair arrives. Every pair stays in plain view, and the one you want comes out without moving anything else.
