Geometric Bull Sculpture in Faceted Resin, Gold, Black, White or Red

A bull caught mid-charge, head lowered and horns pointed forward, built entirely from flat angled planes like a sheet of folded paper. This geometric resin sculpture is about 12.6 inches long, made to stand on a desk, a bookshelf or a sideboard, and it comes in gold, black, white or red.

It reads as modern, not rustic. There is no fur, no plinth and no plaque, only the shape of the animal cut down to its strongest lines. That keeps it as much at home beside books and a reading lamp as it is on an office shelf.

Flat planes that catch the light

Every side of the bull is a set of crisp flat faces meeting at sharp edges. When daylight moves across it, some faces turn bright while others fall into shadow, which gives a small piece real depth and keeps the outline easy to read from across the room.

The horns, the ears and the tail are the only rounded parts. The horns sweep forward from a head held low, the shoulders rise to a high peak above the front legs, and the tail curls back down to meet the hind leg. It stands on its own four hooves, with nothing underneath it.

Gold, black, white or red, and the room each one suits

Gold has a soft metallic sheen and looks right beside walnut, brass and lamplight. Black is the quietest of the four, a deep low-sheen black that stands out best against a pale wall or light oak shelves.

White works the other way round, so it looks sharpest on dark wood or against a wall painted in a deeper shade. Red is the bold one. In a room that is otherwise neutral, it becomes the first thing anyone notices.

Sized for a desk, a shelf or a mantel

At 12.6 inches long and 7.5 inches tall, it stands a little lower than an upright hardback and runs about as long as two of them side by side. That is enough to hold its own on a sideboard or a mantel, and still small enough for the corner of a desk or a single shelf.

Plenty of people see a bull as a sign of strength and drive, which is why one so often ends up in a study or a home office. It also makes an easy present for someone starting a new role. Put it where a window's light falls across it, and the planes do the rest.
