Three stars drawn in fine wire, each one traced with 42 warm white LEDs, that hang in a window from a small ring at the top point. In daylight they read as a light, clean outline against the glass, and once the evening comes in each one turns into a soft glowing star you can see from the sidewalk.
No plug to find. No cable taped along the sill. No hooks screwed into the window frame.
Three stars look planned where one looks like an afterthought
A single star in a window is pleasant enough, but it tends to look like the last thing that came out of the decorations box. Hang three at slightly different heights across the same pane and the window starts to look arranged, which is the effect most people are after when they decorate the front of the house. Each star is about 11.6 inches across and 12.2 inches tall, big enough to read from the street and small enough that all three fit an ordinary window without crowding it.
Every star runs from its own battery box on a lead about 3.3 feet long, so you can spread them out however the window allows. The box sits out of sight on the curtain rail or behind the top of the frame, and the thin lead runs straight up from the star's top point. From inside the room you mostly see the stars.
A remote for each star, and a timer that remembers for you
Each star comes with its own small remote, already fitted with its battery. You change the light from the sofa instead of reaching up behind the curtain. There are eight lighting modes, from a slow fade and a gentle glow to chasing and twinkling patterns, plus a steady setting for the evenings when you simply want light in the window. The remote also has a timer button. Set it, and the stars come on and go off again without anyone having to remember them. The modes are listed one by one in the specifications below.
Fine enough to leave hanging all day
The frame is a slim iron rod with a fine wire wound around it in a loose spiral, and the LEDs sit along that wire as tiny beads. Switched off, each star is a pale, delicate line drawing that does not darken the room or block the view, which matters on a window you look through every morning. Each battery box takes three AA batteries, not included.
The set is made for indoor use: on the inside of the glass, over a mirror, along a wall above a sideboard or hung from the branches of the tree. Put them up once, set the timer, and the window takes care of itself for the rest of the season.
