A square pool light that charges on a magnetic cable, slides into a bracket glued to the pool wall, and glows in any of sixteen colors from a remote you can use from the far side of the yard. Each one carries thirteen LEDs and runs for up to fifty hours on a single charge.

Light the water without digging up the yard

Most pools disappear the moment the sun goes down, because putting a wired light into a finished pool means draining it, cutting into the wall and paying someone to run power back to the house. These lights skip every part of that job. Each one is a sealed square box rated IP68 for full submersion, so it can sit below the waterline for as long as you leave it there.

You fix the flat white bracket to the pool wall with the waterproof glue in the box, give it time to set, and slide the light down into it. When it needs charging, it slides straight back out without a single tool. By day it reads as a small white square on the wall, about the size of a coaster, and after dark it turns the water around it into a soft wash of color.

One remote runs every light, from across the yard

The remote works by radio rather than infrared, so you never have to point it at anything. It reaches up to 200 feet through open air and about 16 feet through water, and a single press changes every light in range, more than ten of them at once. Choose one of the sixteen solid colors, set the brightness on one of five levels, or hand the job to the Flash, Fade and Smooth modes and let the colors move on their own.

A two, four or six hour timer switches everything off later, so nobody has to walk back out in the dark to do it.

A magnetic charger instead of a port to seal

There is no rubber flap to pry open and no socket that has to stay dry. Two small metal contacts sit on the side of each light, and the magnetic head on the charging cable snaps straight onto them. Three to five hours on a USB charger, a computer or a power bank fills the built-in 2000 mAh battery, which then runs for 30 to 50 hours depending on the mode and how bright you set it.

That covers a good run of evenings outside before anything has to come out of the water again.

Not only for the pool

Because it is sealed and has no cord, it works wherever there is water to light. Put a pair inside a hot tub, a few along the wall of an above-ground pool, one at the edge of a garden pond or fountain, or one at the back of a fish tank. Sets come with two, four or six lights, and every set includes one remote that runs them all. Charge them in the afternoon, and by the time everyone comes outside the pool is the best-lit thing in the yard.
