A single plastic drawer in its own box, with a recessed top that the next box sits down into. Stack two, three or four of them and a corner of the desk becomes a small chest of drawers. Every drawer still slides out on its own.

Each box is about 7.5 inches wide, 7.9 inches deep and just over 3 inches tall, roomy enough for a calculator and a notebook, a row of pens or a full set of makeup. It comes in blue, teal, orange and yellow. Mix them, and the stack tells you at a glance which drawer holds what.

A stack that sits in line instead of sliding about

The top of every box is a shallow tray with a low raised rim on all four sides. Set a second box on it and its base settles into that tray, so the stack stays lined up rather than resting on a flat lid that shifts each time you open a drawer underneath. Leave the top box bare and the same rim keeps a pair of glasses, a tape dispenser or a perfume bottle from creeping off the edge.

Because each box is separate, the arrangement is yours. Build one tall column beside the monitor, two short ones either side of a mirror, or a low row of single drawers along a shelf. Add another box later and it fits straight on top.

Pull the tab and the whole tray comes out

The drawer is an open tray that slides all the way out of its box. Nothing gets lost at the back. A small rounded tab on the front gives you something to hook a finger behind, and its color is part of the look: gray on the blue and the teal, white on the orange, and a light blue on the yellow.

Lift the tray right out and you can carry it to wherever you are working, or tip out the eraser crumbs and stray paper clips without taking the stack apart. Slide it back and the front sits flush inside the rim of the box, a clean rounded panel with only the tab standing out. The finish is smooth and matte, with softly rounded corners all the way around.

One for each small job

On a desk they take the things that never quite make it back into a real drawer: chargers, sticky notes, the spare key and the stapler. On a dressing table they keep lipsticks, brushes and compacts in shallow rows where you can see every one. In a bathroom cabinet or on a bedroom shelf, they hold the small things that would otherwise end up together in one crowded basket.

Each box is sold on its own. Start with one in the color you like, or build a stack from all four. Open the drawer, take what you need, slide it shut, and the surface stays clear.
